CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy Releases Rs 3,923 Crore under YSR Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan Assistance

Date:

Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy of Andhra Pradesh announced the release of Rs 3,923.21 crore as the first installment of the fifth consecutive year under the YSR Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan assistance scheme. This financial support will benefit 52,30,939 farmers across the state, with each farmer receiving Rs 7,500.

During a meeting on the occasion, CM Jaganmohan Reddy highlighted the progress made in the past four years, where Rs 1,965 crore was directly credited to the bank accounts of 22.7 lakh farmer families. This assistance has amounted to Rs 61,500 per farmer till date. He emphasized that the government has exceeded its manifesto promise of providing Rs 12,500 by offering Rs 13,500 per farmer. The government has already disbursed Rs 31,000 crore to farmers’ accounts, and an annual amount of Rs 3,923 crore is allocated under the Rythu Bharosa scheme.

Jaganmohan Reddy reiterated the government’s commitment to the welfare of farmers, emphasizing that the YSRCP manifesto was developed with the best interests of farmers in mind. He contrasted the current approach with the previous administration, stating that the Chandrababu Naidu regime failed to address the challenges faced by farmers adequately. He noted that, under the current administration, the Rayalaseema region has witnessed improved water availability, unlike in the past.

The Chief Minister also criticized the previous government’s lack of attention to crucial development projects. He stated that Chandrababu Naidu only remembered the needs of the people during election times, failing to allocate even Rs 10 crore for the development of Kurnool during his tenure. In contrast, the current government is committed to the welfare of farmers and has implemented measures such as providing nine hours of free power during the day and strengthening the power supply infrastructure with an investment of Rs 1700 crore. Moreover, Andhra Pradesh stands out as the only state offering one unit of power for just Rs. 1.50.

In conclusion, CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s release of Rs 3,923 crore under the YSR Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan assistance scheme demonstrates the government’s dedication to supporting farmers in Andhra Pradesh. The allocation of funds reflects the government’s commitment to fulfilling its promises outlined in the manifesto, surpassing the specified assistance amount. By focusing on improving water availability and providing essential resources such as power, the government aims to uplift the agricultural sector and enhance the overall well-being of farmers in the state.
