The teaser for the upcoming pan-Indian mythological movie, Adipurush, starring Prabhas and Kriti Sanon, was heavily criticized by fans due to its subpar visual effects. Hindu group leaders filed several cases against the movie’s makers for the inappropriate portrayal of Lord Rama, Goddess Sita, Lord Hanuman, and the demon king Ravana. Originally, Adipurush was set to release globally on January 12, 2023. However, following the backlash after the teaser launch, the film’s release was postponed to June 16, 2023.

In a recent interview, director Om Raut addressed the decision to delay the release and spoke about how the extra time helped enhance the VFX. According to Raut, the challenges they faced during the production process will only make the movie better and their journey stronger. He also revealed that Adipurush is the first of its kind in India and that Hollywood technology used in blockbusters such as Marvel, DC, and Avatar was utilized in the movie. Raut concluded by emphasizing the significant responsibility of presenting the epic Ramayana to the current generation.
