According to a survey, GMR Hyderabad International Airport is expected to receive more than 21 million passengers per year in 2022-23, signalling a robust resurgence in the Indian aviation industry. According to the survey, this rebound is due to an improvement in consumer confidence in air travel, as well as aviation-friendly government policies, infrastructure development, and increasing consumer expenditure.

The airport served 17.6 million domestic passengers and nearly 3.4 million international passengers in 2022-23. In terms of yearly passenger volume, the airport has risen to fourth place in India, and it is looking at new destinations such as Chicago, New York, and Paris to boost connection.The Hyderabad International Airport will also be expanded to boost its capacity from 12 million to 34 million passengers per year, with an Integrated Domestic and International Terminal under a single roof.
