Today, there is a notable shift in the ideology and policies of the Congress party compared to the era of YS Rajasekhar Reddy. During his tenure as Chief Minister, Rajasekhar Reddy implemented significant measures such as introducing free electricity. However, the Telangana Congress party of today has undergone a transformation, being perceived more as Chandrababu’s Congress rather than the original Rajasekhar Reddy Congress. The policies and principles advocated by Rajasekhar Reddy seem to have diminished within the current Congress party. As a result, the YSR Congress, led by Jagan Mohan Reddy, has emerged as a party that carries forward the original ideals of Rajasekhar Reddy, particularly in Andhra Pradesh. This shift has been acknowledged by Minister KTR, who points out the divergence between the present Congress party and the legacy of YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s Congress.
