Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, has lay the cornerstone for what is billed as the nation’s highest virtual statue of Sri Rama. The Jai Shri Ram Foundation will erect the statue, which is 108 feet tall and constructed of “panchaloha,” at a price of 300 crore. The Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt generously donated a 10-acre plot for the statue’s construction, which will be accompanied by a Ram Mandir.
This remarkable project is being overseen by the sculptor Ram Vanji Sutar, who is best known for creating the Statue of Unity, the highest statue in the world, in Gujarat’s Kevadia. Mr. Amit Shah, in a tweet, referred to the statue as colossal, expressing that it will evoke deep devotion and inspire people to uphold our rich and timeless civilizational values.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of Sri Subudendra Theertha Swamy, the pontiff of Raghavendra Swamy Mutt, and T.G. Venkatesh, a former member of the Rajya Sabha, among other dignitaries. The statue’s installation at Mantralayam in Nandyal district holds the promise of becoming a magnificent symbol of devotion, leaving a profound impact on the hearts of devotees and visitors alike.
